Mente Locale Lab – Music in film
Mente Locale Lab is a one-day industry event during Mente Locale film festival, for a deeper insight into specific issues of filmmaking. It brings acclaimed professionals to give inspiration and information and offers an easy-going possibility for networking in the countryside hills of Bologna.
The first edition of Mente Locale Lab is dedicated to music in film. Awarded composer Sanna Salmenkallio, who is known for her music composed for fiction and documentary films as well as theatre, will give a master class and discuss the creative process of composing for film.
Apart from the creative content, we will also tackle other aspects of music, including music rights and the added value of using composed music instead of a music library, with the assistance of Maurizio Feverati, lawyer and expert in copyright issues applied to film.
Master of Ceremonies will be Leena Pasanen, producer and international film expert, now artistic director of Mente Locale.
The event takes place in a beautiful Agriturismo “Il Castellazzo” and offers limited seats for filmmakers, producers, composers, and other industry professionals. Students are also admitted. Registration deadline: Friday, May 5th, 2023
The setting offers an excellent opportunity to talk to other professionals and get inspiration and advice on your own work in small group meetings.
